Installing Desktop Theme Files You need to have Windows 98/ME or buy either Microsoft Plus! or an equivalent to use desktop themes. I recommend Desktop Architect as an excellent freeware alternative: http://www.desktoparchitect.com To Install: EXE Files: The desktop theme you have downloaded and all its components will automatically install on your computer by double clicking on its self-extracting zip file: (name of theme).exe. You will be prompted on where to unzip files to. PLEASE KEEP THE DEFAULT AT C:\. This will install the theme and its components automatically on most computers. If you have changed your Microsoft Plus! default folder locations (typically, C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes) then you will need to move the files to your new default location. The theme-related files will be automatically extracted to C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes\(new folder for the theme components) The (name of theme).theme file will be extracted to C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes The (name of screensaver).scr file, if included, will be extracted to C:\Windows\System ZIP FILES: Save the file onto your desktop and double click. Extract all the files to C:\ making sure the "use folder names" box is checked. This will automatically install the theme and all its components as described above. To Use: Open Control Panel, Desktop Themes and select the new theme from the Themes pulldown list. Enjoy!
