Free Desktop Themes

Download free, original desktop themes plus learn how to make your own themes. You will need a program such as Winzip for themes with a "zip" extension. Themes with an "exe" extension are self-extracting zip files and do not need another program to unzip the files. If your computer uses Windows 98 or Windows ME, then themes are built in. However, Windows 95 users must own Microsoft Plus! or a freeware equivalent to use the themes. After downloading a theme from this site, double click on the file to install. The readme file explains how to do this. Still having trouble? Help is available.

All themes on this page operate with Windows 95/98/ME/2000/NT. Note for Windows XP users: Themes with an icon have been tested to work on computers running Windows XP. Classic windows styles must be chosen in order for the theme's color scheme to appear correctly.
